Man Charged With Murdering Clinton Township Resident

A 25-year-old Detroit man was charged in the April shooting death of a Clinton Township resident, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Wednesday in a news release.

Antoine Jamal Heath faces charges of first-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm and second-degree felony firearm in 36th District Court, according to Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.

Heath is accused in the homicide of Ivan Murad, 25, who was found at approximately 3:17 a.m. April 16 with multiple gunshot wounds in front of a home in the 18600 block of Fairway on Detroit's west side. Murad was pronounced dead on the scene, Miller stated.

His 2006 black Dodge Magnum was found two days later a few blocks away from the crime scene, Fox 2 news reported. Police suspect the attacker ran over the victim with his own car, according to Channel 7.

Following his death, Murad's family pleaded with the public to help find his killer, with Crime Stoppers offering a reward.

"We miss and love him so much. He was our only child. So if anyone out there knows anything, please call," Fox 2 quoted his mother Laura Ratzloff last month.

A preliminary exam for Heath is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 19 in this case.
