The Memory Room Opens for Business with Family-Friendly New Year’s Eve

The new Clinton Township venue will open prematurely Dec. 31 to offer local families a place to ring in 2013 with music, dancing and a sparkling juice toast at midnight.

The Memory Room won’t officially open its doors until Jan. 7, but families are invited to ring in the New Year with a special celebration at the venue Dec. 31. “It’s something different for families to do instead of just sitting at home,” said owner Dana-Marie Serio. “They can be out in an entertainment atmosphere. I think the kids would really love that. I know my children will be here and they’ll love it.” Unlike many other parties set to take place at bars and restaurants across Clinton Township on New Year’s Eve, The Memory Room’s bash will be geared toward kids. “We’ll have the crazy blowers and the hats and all the goodies and surprises for the kids throughout the night,” Serio, herself a mother of two, said. Family Arcade and Banquet Facility Coming to Clinton Township

The Memory Room, which will open in the Pointe Village Square shopping mall at Hall and Heydenreich, will be a family-fun center during the week and a banquet center on weekends.

Brush up your gaming and karaoke skills, Clinton Township. A new business is moving into town and its focus is family fun. Clinton Township’s board of trustees approved The Memory Room this week to move into the storefront at 20690 Hall Road, located in the Pointe Village Square shopping mall at the southeast corner of Hall and Heydenreich roads. The Memory Room is the brainchild of Chesterfield Township resident Dana-Marie Serio, an accountant by day and DJ by night. “Music is such an inspiration to so many people and kids just need something that is going to give them confidence and esteem,” Serio said, referring to her plans for kids karaoke. “When they get off of that stage and everyone is cheering, it’s like they are stars.
