May is National Bike Month in which the public is encouraged to keep cyclists' safety in mind.
With warm weather upon us, Macomb County drivers are encouraged to keep biker safety in mind. May is National Bike Month and this week is Bike to Work Week. Although the county claims trails for cyclists and runners, including the Macomb Orchard Trail and Metro Parkway non-motorized path, bikers' rights are also crucial alongside roads. To promote awareness, the Michigan Department of Transportation shared YouTube videos, which are attached, on the subject. Where do you bike in Clinton Township? The coaches represent schools from across the county, including those in L'Anse Creuse Public Schools.
The Macomb County Coaches Hall of Fame added 15 members Thursday night during a ceremony in Sterling Heights. Coaches from L'Anse Creuse Public Schools were among those honored, according to The Macomb Daily. Golfers can now take to the links of Lake St. Clair Metropark golf course, weather permitting.
The par-3 golf course at Lake St. Clair Metropark is now open for play, weather permitting. The course, which also features a putting green, is open for play from 8 a.m. until dusk. Rates are $6 for weekdays, $7 for weekends and holidays. Seniors, 62 and over, and juniors, 20 and under, is $5 Monday through Friday, holidays not included. The early registration ends March 31 for the June 15 event at Lake St. Clair Metropark.
Winter weather is still upon us, but Macomb County is thinking summer fun. Early registration is taking place until March 31 for the county's second annual Sprint and Splash beginning at 8 a.m. June 15, 2013 at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township. The three options to participate in this event are: The Sprint and Splash aims to promote Lake St. Clair and benefits the Lake St. Clair Tourism Initiative, the Clinton River Watershed Council and Six Rivers Regional Land Conservancy. I am sorry, but I think it is dangerous for cyclist's to be on the road. It is very hard to try and get past them, while I am trying not to hit them and not get hit by the cars coming in my direction. They need to be on BIKE PATH'S, not the main roads.   more ›
