Republican and former state representative Kim Meltzer unseated incumbent Clerk George Fitzgerald in Clinton Township's most closely contested race. Meltzer won by just 671 votes, according to Clinton Township election results. She joins Republican Supervisor Robert Cannon and Democratic Treasurer William J. Sowerby as one of the township's three full-time officials. Both Cannon and Sowerby ran unopposed.

Woman Police Say Aided Teens in Car Break-ins to Face Assault with Intent to Murder Charges

Tiffany Trina Ruff, 35 of Clinton Township, is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly acting as the getaway driver for two 16-year-olds who committed a series of car break-ins Nov. 1 at The Harbours Apartments.

Ruff was arraigned in 41B District Court in Clinton Township on charges of assault with intent to murder, felony firearm, breaking and entering a vehicle causing damage, and receiving and concealing a weapon.

Clinton Township Teens Accused of Shooting at Driver Charged as Adults

Two Clinton Township teens who allegedly shot at a man who followed them from a series of car break-ins will face the charges against them as adults, according to court records.

Police say the teens were breaking into cars at The Harbours Apartments on Nov. 1 while a former Detroit charter school teacher drove them around the complex. When they were followed, the teens used a stolen .45-caliber Glock handgun to fire at the pursuing vehicle.
