A Week of Pre-Cruise Car Shows Planned to Rev Up the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise

This article was written by Tracey Moro

Car enthusiasts and fans of all ages are invited to attend the 11th Annual Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise taking place on Sunday, August 4, 2013, in an effort to share a love for classic cars, promote local businesses and encourage a sense of community by welcoming all to Clinton Township.

Crowds of more than 200,000 people and thousands of classic cars are expected to line Gratiot Avenue from 14 mile to north of Metropolitan Parkway through Clinton Township. This event has received miles of participation over the years and has become known as a fun family-friendly event showcasing loads of cars.

“We can’t wait for this year’s cruise,” said Shanon Rupkus, Cruise Chairperson. “The committee has been busy working behind the scenes to make sure we have another successful and enjoyable cruise for everyone.”

Spectators will be thrilled by thousands of street rods, hot rods, classics, race cars, pace cars, muscle cars and trucks. Pre-Cruise Car Shows will take place the week leading up to the cruise. Whether you’re coming to watch, cruise or reminisce, there is something for everyone to do. Local businesses along Gratiot are welcoming cruisers and families to join in on the fun and will be hosting viewing parties as well as giving back to the community with free events throughout the day. Our top sponsors, McLaren Macomb Hospital and Dorian Ford, have generously helped to make the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise a success.
