Partridge Creek to Kick Start Holidays with Two-Day Tree Lighting Celebration

Making its tree lighting a weekend-long event, The Mall at Partridge Creek will offer live music, apple cider and donuts, photos with Santa and more Nov. 10-11.

The Jolly Old Elf will make one of his first stops of the season next week at The Mall at Partridge Creek, capping off the mall's two-day tree lighing celebration by flipping the switch on more than 300,000 lights and a 42-foot tree.

Now in its sixth year, and anticipating its largest crowd to date, Partridge Creek has extended its tree lighting festivities from one day to a full weekend of entertainment.

“Because of its popularity, we’re expanding the entire Tree Lighting experience to include the whole weekend,” said Seok Chung, marketing and sponsorship director for The Mall at Partridge Creek in a prepared statement. “We’re kicking off the holiday season in a big way this year adding more music, free photos, magic and loads of fun for the entire family.”

The festivities will start at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, and finish up around 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, with Santa Claus scheduled to make his much-anticipated appearance at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace will serve free apple cider and donuts near the Nordstrom Court while supplies last, and children in attendance will be given free light wands just before the lighting ceremony begins.

“Partridge Creek’s tree lighting ceremony has become a beloved community event in its sixth year at our shopping center,” Chung added. “We try to top ourselves each holiday shopping season by providing great music, exciting events and festive holiday surroundings. Our goal is to make shopping and dining at Partridge Creek a memorable experience for each and every patron.

Fresh 100.3’s Jay Towers will emcee the tree lighting and the Detroit Pistons Drum Line will lead old St. Nick to the Center Court for the weekend's grand finale – flipping the switch on more than 300,000 holiday lights.
