Say goodbye to the barricades, orange barrels and bothersome detours, drivers. Cass Avenue is slated to reopen in both directions between Groesbeck and Gratiot by rush hour Monday.
A key route for drivers traveling to, through or from Mount Clemens, portions of the road have been closed since July, when total reconstruction began.
While one lane has remained open for eastbound traffic throughout the project, the orange barrels and barricades have made the intersection of Groesbeck and Cass Avenue somewhat of an obstacle course.
County officials are expected to announce the official opening of the road Monday, Nov. 19, putting the project approximately two days ahead of its scheduled completion, according to the Macomb County Department of Roads website.
