Leadership Macomb Honors Baker College President

Baker College of Clinton Township President Donald R. Torline was surprised to receive an award from Leadership Macomb at a recent breakfast meeting. He was even more surprised that the award was named the Donald R. Torline Leadership Legacy Award.

“Don has been consistently supportive of Leadership Macomb since he was inducted into its second class of participants in 1996,” said Karen Smith, Leadership Macomb executive director. “With sincere appreciation and gratitude for his personal and professional support, the board of directors wanted to honor him in a special way. This award will be presented annually to an individual in Don’s honor. It’s fitting that the first recipient is Don.”

Leadership Macomb is a non-for-profit organization that seeks to create a network of informed Macomb County community leaders; enable graduates of its annual nine-month program and others to engage in civic leadership; and strengthen organizational and community relationships. More than 500 individuals representing more than 100 organizations have participated in the program.
