Best Friends Animal Angel Tree Collects more than $1500 in Supplies to Help Animal Rescue

Animal Lovers Show Their Concern for Homeless Pets

Local animal lovers stepped up this holiday season and showed their concern for homeless dogs and cats  by donating more than $1,500 worth of pet food, supplies, toys and treats to Best Friends Pet Care of Clinton Township’s annual Animal Angel Tree campaign.

All donations will go to help the homeless pets cared for by Detroit Dog Rescue of St. Claire Shores.

“We are thrilled with the response of our clients and friends to this year’s Angel Tree campaign,” explains Cathy Lee, manager of Best Friends Pet Care in Clinton Township. “The holiday season is always difficult for the shelters and we know these donations will make a difference for pets in need.”

Best Friends offers boarding, grooming and doggy day camp at 33711 Harper Avenue in Clinton Township, and at 40 other locations across the U.S.  The Animal Angel Tree campaign, now in its 12th year, is one way the company gives back to the community.  Since the campaign began, it has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of food, toys and pet care products for more than 100 different shelters and rescues across the U.S.  For more information visit www.bestfriendspetcare.com.

Detroit Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the homeless dogs of Detroit by raising awareness of the plight of stray dogs in the city and building its first no-kill animal shelter.  For information, visit www.detroitdogrescue.com.
